The 1099th Quartermaster Company (Avn.) was activated at Esler Field, La., in February
1942 and arrived in the United Kingdom in October 1942. It was redesignated several times
and personnel seperated into detachments stationed at various fields.
Captain Dan Cohen commanded until September 1943 when he was succeeded by Lt. L.A.
Baum who served until February 1944. He was succeeded by Captain Roy E. Rice who
served until August of 1944. He was succeeded by Lt. Harry R. Wise who served until April
1945.
