When the 8th Fighter Command pilots leave the big bombers after
finishing their tour of escort deep within Germany they often come
down just off the ground and make the long run back to the channel at
that height shooting up military installations as they go. This is what
happened to a german light bomber that was parked on an airdrome.
Stills from the automatic camera in the wing of the Thunderbolt of Lt.
Donald F. Ludwig, Hepburnville, Pa., record its destruction.
